Carousel

Carousel is a multi-card ad format on Meta, LinkedIn and Pinterest: 2-10 swipeable cards, each with its own image, headline and link.

What does Carousel actually mean?

Carousel ads are multi-card swipeable units, available on Meta (Facebook + Instagram Feed), LinkedIn and Pinterest. Each card has its own image or video, headline and destination URL, with the carousel sharing one primary text and CTA.

Carousel format works well for: product collections (one product per card), framework or how-to content (one step per card), comparison content (your product vs. alternatives), and progressive storytelling (hook → problem → solution → CTA across 4 cards). It's structurally weaker for single-product brand awareness, where a single video usually outperforms.

Meta's Dynamic Product Ads (DPA) often use carousel format automatically, pulling 6-10 products from your catalog into a personalized swipeable ad. For static catalog work, this is one of the highest-ROAS formats in the entire Meta surface.

Example

A Shopify brand runs a carousel ad showing 6 product variants. Card 1 is the hero, cards 2-6 each highlight one variant. Each card links directly to that variant's product page on Shopify.

When it matters

Carousel is one of Meta's highest-ROAS formats for product-focused campaigns. Underused outside of DPA workflows.
