Arcads vs MakeUGC: which AI UGC studio gives you more usable ads?
MakeUGC: talking-actor video costs 100 credits; Starter $59/mo has 500. Arcads: 800 credits per video; Starter has 8,000, dollar prices in-app. Neither publishes ads.
Arcads and MakeUGC both started with AI actors talking about products and have grown into full ad studios. MakeUGC publishes its prices and per-video credit costs; Arcads publishes credit costs but keeps dollar prices in its app. We're advrt, a third tool without talking actors, and we've said where that matters.
Arcads
AI ad platform with 1,000+ talking actors, product videos, static ads, translation, competitor ad research and an agent that can publish to Meta.
Pick Arcads if you want an agent that researches, generates and publishes to Meta, plus translation and a large actor library.
MakeUGC
AI UGC video studio with talking actors, Product in Hand, image ads, batch mode and API access on every plan, from $59/mo monthly.
Pick MakeUGC if you want published prices, a $1 trial, Product in Hand on every plan and the API included.
advrt
Ads built around your real product photos, then fair live tests on Meta.
Pick advrt if you need product-accurate image and video ads and a fair Meta test with winner and loser calls, from $19.99/mo. No talking actors yet.
The short answer
Choose MakeUGC if you want published prices, a $1 trial, Product in Hand on every plan and API access without paying extra (MakeUGC pricing, checked October 2026). Its cheapest plan is small: 500 credits at 100 per talking-actor video is about 5 videos a month.
Choose Arcads if you want an agent that can research competitors, build ads and publish them to Meta, plus translation and a large actor library (Arcads Mark). We found no ad publishing or ad analytics on MakeUGC's site. Look at advrt only if you don't need a talking actor: it makes product-photo ads and tests them on Meta.

How are Arcads and MakeUGC different?
They overlap more than most pairs. MakeUGC says "UGC is where we started" and now pitches "UGC ads, product videos, cinematic clips and image ads with every leading AI model in one studio" (makeugc.ai). Arcads calls itself "an AI platform for making ads" covering UGC-style actor videos, product videos, B-roll, static ads, voiceovers, captions and translation (What is Arcads?).
The differences are around the edges of generation. Arcads adds an agent, Mark, that can research what's working on TikTok, Instagram and X, sync competitors from the Meta Ad Library, and publish to Meta. MakeUGC adds Product in Hand on every plan, a content library of real UGC ads to remake, and API and MCP access on all plans.
We found no ad publishing, ad account connection or performance analytics on MakeUGC's site in October 2026. If you want generation and launch in one tool, that decides it.
Which handles product-in-hand better?
MakeUGC's Product in Hand asks you to "upload one product photo" and has the actor "hold it, show it and talk about it," on every plan (MakeUGC Product in Hand). Its API docs price Product in Hand scenes at 100 or 200 credits each depending on the Veo model.
Arcads offers an actor holding your product among four product formats, alongside unboxing POV, cinematic product shots and app demos. Its help center says library actors "are not yet holding your product"; you generate an image of an actor with it, then animate that image (Arcads: product in a video).
Both rely on a model redrawing your product in someone's hand, so check labels and logos closely. In advrt's own testing, logos were the first thing to break when a product moved. advrt avoids the problem for still images by editing your real product photo, but it has no talking actor to hold it.
Can either one launch or test your ads?
Arcads can publish. Connect Meta Ads and Mark can "read campaign performance, clone the winner and publish new ads" (Arcads performance marketing). Its article on creative testing covers making variations; we didn't find how a test is structured or a winner chosen.
MakeUGC doesn't, as far as we could find. We saw no ad account connection, publishing or performance reporting on its site, so finished videos go into Ads Manager or TikTok Ads Manager by hand.
advrt's test is the part it's built around. One Meta campaign, one ad set per creative, equal daily budgets, everything paused until you confirm. Each ad is judged against your account's last 30 days, losers can pause automatically, and a winner can become 3 new variations. It only tests ads that advrt made, so it won't test Arcads or MakeUGC videos.
What does each talking-actor video really cost?
We converted each vendor's published credit costs into videos per month, then applied the re-roll rate we saw making advrt's own showcase videos (1 in 3 needed a second render, so 4 renders for every 3 usable videos). That last column is our estimate for planning, not a vendor figure: our rate came from Veo product videos, and talking-actor renders may fail more or less often.
| Plan (monthly billing) | Credits a month | Cost per talking-actor video | Renders a month | Usable at our re-roll rate | Dollars per render |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MakeUGC Starter, $59 | 500 | 100 credits | 5 | About 4 | $11.80 |
| MakeUGC Growth, $79 | 1,000 | 100 credits | 10 | 7 to 8 | $7.90 |
| MakeUGC Pro, $149 | 2,000 (lowest tier) | 100 credits | 20 | 15 | $7.45 |
| Arcads Starter | 8,000 | 800 credits (Arcads 1.0, up to 2 min) | 10 | 7 to 8 | Not published |
| Arcads Creator | 16,000 | 800 credits (Arcads 1.0, up to 2 min) | 20 | 15 | Not published |
Sources: makeugc.ai/pricing and makeugc.ai/docs/api/v2/limits; help.arcads.ai pricing article. October 19, 2026. MakeUGC annual billing lowers the dollar cost to $5.80, $3.90 and $3.95 per render. Promotional bonus credits excluded.
On published numbers, the plans are closer than they look. MakeUGC Growth and Arcads Starter each buy about 10 talking-actor videos a month. MakeUGC's cheapest plan buys only 5, so the entry price is less of a bargain than the headline suggests. On annual billing MakeUGC's cost per render roughly halves.
Our showcase run made 3 product videos with Veo 3 Fast. The sunglasses video was usable first time; the water bottle rotated and its "FLOW" logo came out as "FWLOFW"; the coffee bag grew a second hand. Both were fixed by asking for a steady product and one hand. Expect similar issues with any product-in-hand render.

Questions buyers ask
- Is Arcads better than MakeUGC?
- Arcads does more around the ad: competitor research, an agent and Meta publishing. MakeUGC is easier to price, includes Product in Hand and the API on every plan, and has a $1 trial. For generation alone, they're close; try your own product on both.
- Is MakeUGC cheaper than Arcads?
- MakeUGC publishes prices from $59 a month on monthly billing ($29 billed annually). Arcads shows dollar prices only in its app. On credits, MakeUGC Growth and Arcads Starter each buy about 10 talking-actor videos a month.
- Can you try Arcads or MakeUGC before paying?
- MakeUGC offers any plan for $1 as a trial, which renews at the plan price unless you cancel. Arcads offers a 72-hour trial with 1,000 credits and a card hold; Starter begins automatically afterwards.
- Which is better for product demo ads?
- MakeUGC's Product in Hand works from one product photo and is included on every plan. Arcads offers product-in-hand, unboxing and cinematic product shots, but asks you to generate an image of the actor holding the product first. Check logos and labels closely on both.
- Where does advrt fit?
- advrt makes image ads and short product videos from your real product photo and tests them live on Meta against your account's last 30 days. It sits next to a UGC video tool, not in place of one.
