A Foreplay alternative that makes and launches the ads
Foreplay is excellent for inspiration, swipe files, competitor tracking and briefs. It doesn't generate or publish ads, so someone still has to make the creative and launch it. advrt picks up from there: angles, image and video ads from your real product photos, and live tests on Meta.
Free plan: 5 ad generations a month, no card.

Why teams look for a Foreplay alternative
Foreplay stops at the brief
Swipe File, Discovery, Spyder, Lens and Briefs cover research and planning. Making and launching the ad happens in other tools.
Your bottleneck is making ads
If the hard part is producing creative rather than finding inspiration, a research suite doesn't move it. advrt generates the angles, copy, images and video.
You want the test run for you
advrt launches each creative in its own ad set with an equal budget and judges it against your account's last 30 days, then pauses the losers.
Where each tool is stronger
Foreplay does some things advrt doesn't. Here are both lists.
Foreplay is stronger at
- Huge ad library
- Discovery searches 100M+ ads, and the Chrome extension saves ads from anywhere. advrt's swipe file is nowhere near that size.
- Spyder competitor tracking
- Always-on tracking of competitors' ads. advrt doesn't have this yet; it's in development.
- Briefs, analytics and an API
- Briefs for creators and designers, Lens for creative analytics, plus MCP/API access. All things advrt doesn't offer today.
advrt is stronger at
- It generates the ads
- 3–6 angles per campaign with hooks, Meta copy, image concepts and short video scripts, then the image and video ads themselves. Foreplay doesn't generate ads.
- Built around your real product photos
- Image models edit your actual product photos into scenes, so the product in the ad is the one you sell.
- Live tests on Meta
- Equal budgets per creative, judged against your account's last 30 days, losers auto-paused if you want, three variations of a winner in one click.
- Publish to Meta and TikTok
- Push single ads to Meta (created paused) and TikTok on Basic and up. Foreplay doesn't publish ads.
- Free plan, no card
- Foreplay starts at $49/mo billed annually ($59 monthly) with a 7-day trial that needs a card. advrt has a free plan and Basic at $19.99/mo.

Switching from Foreplay
- Should I use both Foreplay and advrt?
- That's a sensible setup: Foreplay for research and competitor tracking, advrt for making and testing the ads. They overlap only at the swipe file.
- Does advrt have an ad library / swipe file?
- A small one. advrt searches Meta's Ad Library API and lets you save ads and link them to competitor profiles. Meta's API only returns commercial ads shown in the EU and UK, so it's far narrower than Foreplay's 100M+ library. Saved ads are used as context when advrt writes angles.
- Can I use my Foreplay briefs?
- There's no import. advrt writes its own angles from your product page, brand kit, audience notes and saved swipe-file ads, so you can put the key points of a brief into the audience description.
- What about competitor tracking?
- advrt stores competitor profiles and the ads you save to them; it doesn't track them automatically. Always-on tracking is in development. If that's your main job, Foreplay's Spyder is the better tool today.
- How does pricing compare?
- advrt Free is $0; Basic at $19.99/mo adds live tests and publishing; Pro is $49/mo. Foreplay Basic is $49/mo billed annually ($59 monthly). They do different jobs, so some teams budget for both.
